In 2024, we see both the demand and the capacity for veterinarians to provide strategic end of life care to companion animals.

For palliative patients, treatment goals shift from long term health towards a “comfort over cure” mindset. Vets can enjoy the freedom to focus on core wellbeing through advanced pain relief strategies, mobility aids and cognitive support without the usual lifelong health constraints.

This course provides clinical and pharmacological training for end of life care and small animal euthanasia, as well as client care aspects such as grief counselling and communication. Our patients deserve not only a “good” death through compassionate euthanasia, but also a good end of life journey through excellent veterinary care.
