The course opens on Tuesday, 28th July, and you'll be able to log in and access the course after this date.
At the end of the four weeks, you can expect to feel more confident knowing which premed to prescribe and what potential problems to alert your team to before the gas goes on. Your plan is to have a plan (in advance), as well as a better understanding of what to do when your nice, stable patient suddenly isn’t.
You’ll have the chance to learn:
// Cardiac function and dysfunction, including the physiological changes that occur during GA
// How cardiac function changes during GA
// How anaesthesia agents affect heart function
// How to assess tissue perfusion and volume status during GA
// How to tailor prescription medications perioperatively
// Anaesthesia considerations for patients with cardiac disease, including special considerations for MMVD, DCM and HCMÂ
// Alpha2 adrenergic agonists: to use or not to use
// Managing arterial blood pressure during GA in cardiac patients
// Normal versus abnormal ECGs and how to respond
Each weekly module consists of 45 minutes of content delivery, followed by a solid 30 minutes dedicated to discussing cases put forward by participants. This CPD promises to be more than just a ticked box.
